Congratulations to GoPro athlete Johanne Defay for taking home the win at stop No. 5 of the WSL Women's Championship Tour. Her first win of the tour couldn't have come at a better time. She now sits in fifth in the points race, in good company with Lakey Peterson, Steph Gilmore, Tatiana Weston-Webb and Tyler Wright.

Johanne showed a mix of power and style on her backside, defeating goofy-footed Tatiana in the finals to clinch the third CT win of her career. The Reunion Island native looked comfortable navigating the shallow coral reefs, which was a much more welcome obstacle than those of Margaret River.

Due to excessive shark activity, the Uluwatu CT picked up where the cancelled the Margaret River Pro left off. Men started out in round 3, whereas the women paddled straight into quarterfinals, as decided earlier in Australia.

GoPro now has three surf athletes-Filipe Toledo, Lakey and Johanne-in commanding leads as we head into the Corona J-Bay Pro in early July. Again, huge congratulations to Johanne on such a well-deserved win.
