MARKET ANNOUNCEMENT
In compliance with Article 12 of CVM Instruction 358 as amended, Grendene S.A. ('the Company')(GRND3) reports as follows to its stockholders and to the market:
On May 3, 2018, Grendene received the attached notice ('Attachment I'), from 3G Radar Gestora de Recursos Ltda., stating that investment funds and non-resident investors whose portfolios it manages on a discretionary basis ('the Investors') acquired shares in the Company in the trading session of the São Paulo Stock Exchange April 26, 2019 such that on May 2, 2019 they held in aggregate 47,168,600 (forty seven million one hundred sixty eight thousand) common shares, representing approximately 5.23% of the Company's total capital.
This fund manager has informed us that these acquisitions do not represent any intention of acquiring control of the company; that they are an investment which does not aim to alter the Company's management or the composition of its stockholding control, or regular functioning; and that the Investors are not party to any agreement or contract regulating the exercise of any right to vote or the purchase or sale of any securities issued by the Company.

Grendene SA is a Brazil-based company mainly engaged in the production and sale of synthetic footwear for domestic and foreign markets.
