The extra-financial rating agency Vigeo-Eiris has once again ranked Groupe SEB number one in the 'Technology and Hardware' sector out of a selection of 40 European companies. This puts it in 68th place globally out of 4,904 companies.
More and more investment companies take into account the corporate social and environmental responsibility of listed companies or make it a criterion of their securities selection process. To help these companies make the right choices, extra-financial rating agencies evaluate the environmental, social and governance - ESG - performance of companies like Groupe SEB.
Groupe SEB's performance is well above average for its sector in the three CSR areas evaluated - environment, social and governance - as well as in its risk management regarding reputation, operational efficiency, human resources and legal protection. The Group was singled out in two areas:
The Environment with its low-carbon goals and its product eco-design approach. Groupe SEB intervenes throughout the entire circular economy cycle and is strongly committed to product sustainability. The Industry, Quality/Environment and Sustainable Development Departments have redefined ambitious short and long-term goals to boost the Group's environmental efforts and align with the greenhouse gas emission targets adopted by the Paris Agreements.
Social policy/Human Resources with priority being given to building solid foundations for the social standards applicable worldwide. Community engagement, quality of life in the workplace and the development of employee skills are all areas where the Group excels.
Thanks to our leading position which remains unchallenged despite all companies now getting mobilized for the climate, we are proud that our efforts in recent years have been acclaimed by a recognized body. Groupe SEB is committed to offering its employees a socially equitable policy while deploying actions with a positive social impact, stepping up innovation to move towards an inclusive circular economy and adopting an environmental strategy designed to better fight climate change. The fact our sustainable development strategy applies across all Group functions is what makes our model so robust.'
