OKAYAMA, Japan (Reuters) - Bank of Japan Deputy Governor Masayoshi Amamiya said on Thursday the government's fiscal spending package would give a short-term boost to the economy and help raise the country's long-term growth potential.
"Now is the time to carefully watch how the mix of fiscal and monetary (stimulus) measures affect the economy," Amamiya told a news conference after meeting business leaders in Okayama, western Japan.
