Highfield Resources (ASX: HFR) ('Highfield' or 'the Company') is pleased to announce that after extensive engagement with the relevant mining authorities in Madrid, Aragon and Navarra the Company submitted the Mining Concession documentation on 13 March 2020 Spanish daytime (after market close in Australia) for its flagship Muga Project ('Muga' or 'the Project').

The Company worked closely with the key stakeholders to ensure that all aspects of the submission were prepared to the satisfaction of the authorities. This recent work was key to ensure the documentation submitted is both robust and comprehensive with the aim of assisting a smoother approval process. The Company will continue to work collaboratively with the relevant authorities to expedite the process for finalising the issuance of the Mining Concession.

During the fourth quarter of 2019, Highfield submitted the requisite power and water permits for Muga and work remains ongoing to obtain the outstanding permits required to commence construction.

Highfield Resources' Chairman Richard Crookes said: 'Since receiving the environmental approval for the Muga Project in 2019, Highfield has been working closely with the authorities to ensure that the Mining Concession documentation has been prepared in accordance with the conditions stipulated. With this submission the Company continues to de-risk the Project and advance ever closer to construction.'
