DALLAS (AP) _ HollyFrontier Corp. (HFC) on Thursday reported second-quarter profit of $196.9 million.
On a per-share basis, the Dallas-based company said it had net income of $1.15. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $2.18 per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.67 per share.
The independent energy company posted revenue of $4.78 billion in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $4.58 billion.
HollyFrontier shares have fallen nearly 3% since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 33% in the last 12 months.
