Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) announced today (Friday) that it has become a Strategic Partner Associate of the World Economic Forum (WEF), the international organisation for public-private cooperation.

The WEF provides a platform for the world's 1,000 leading companies to shape a better future, and it is committed to improving the state of the world.

WEF Strategic Partner Associates include the world's leading businesses, and are actively involved in shaping the future of industries, regions and systemic issues. They are comprised of companies that believe in corporate global citizenship and are committed to enabling positive change.

'We look forward to participating in the WEF's activities, and working with its other members and partners on the challenges of today and the issues we are likely to face in the future,' said HKEX Chairman Laura M Cha.

'There will also be new opportunities for us to share our experience and learn from others in areas such as Corporate Social Responsibility and guidelines for Environmental, Social and Governance reporting,' said Mrs Cha.
