Implenia celebrates topping-out of Haus Adeline-Favre - Milestone in construction of Switzerland's largest training centre for occupational therapy, physiotherapy, midwifery and nursing | Ready for use in summer 2020

Dietlikon, 18 January 2019 - Last Thursday Implenia, together with the investor, SISKA Heuberger Holding AG, the landlord, Canton Zurich, and the user, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW), held a topping-out ceremony for Haus Adeline-Favre on Katharina-Sulzer-Platz in Winterthur. "The building is ready for the ceremony right on schedule thanks to everyone involved in the project, and especially to the site workers and planners whose commitment and tireless efforts have allowed us to reach this next milestone," said Adrian Wyss, Head of Modernisation & Development at Implenia: "Haus Adeline-Favre, which has space for around 1,900 students and 260 employees, will soon be bringing vibrant life to Lokstadt and its environs." Demolition work on the site of the former Halle 52 began in January 2017. The ZHAW Department of Health's new site has eight floors, including two basement levels. Staff and students are scheduled to move into the new centre in summer 2020.

Siska Heuberger Holding AG acquired Halle 52 from Implenia, owner and developer of the Lokstadt project, in 2016, and asked Implenia to carry out the replacement building work as total contractor. The building, with a floor area of approximately 25,500 m2 and rental space of around 19,200 m2, is being built in accordance with the SIA Energy Efficiency Path 2040, thus fulfilling the Minergie Standard, and meets all the criteria for a modern educational establishment. The architects, pool Architekten of Zurich, have retained the industrial character of the building, including its crane runway. The frontage will be rebuilt as a brick façade and the new windows will be visually the same as the windows in the old foundry.

Specialists from several different Implenia units, including total contracting, masonry and concreting, special foundations and engineering, are working on Haus Adeline-Favre, offering the customer integrated solutions from a single source.
