Implenia wins a contract in Norway - New construction of a road between Sumstad and Hongsand | Tunnels as avalanche protection measures will ensure increased safety | Order volume of around NOK 230 million (around CHF 25 million)

Dietlikon/Oslo, 7 February 2019 - Implenia has won a new contract in Norway. The Group is implementing a road construction project with an order volume of around NOK 230 million (around CHF 25 million) for the Norwegian road authority "Staten vegvesen".

The existing road between Sumstad and Hongsand is narrow and often affected by avalanches due to its exposed location. The new road will therefore include two tunnels to serve as an avalanche protection measure, which will ensure year-round safe use. The Måvik and Berfjord tunnels will be 920 metres and 670 metres long respectively, and a new section of road of just over a kilometre in length will also be built. Work on the project will begin soon in February 2019 and is expected to be finished by December 2020.

"We are delighted to have won this contract", says Audun Aaland, CEO of Implenia Norge. "Implenia can again demonstrate its core competencies in infrastructure construction in this project. Furthermore, we are helping to ensure safe road use".
