LUXEMBOURG (AP) _ Intelsat SA (I) on Thursday reported a loss of $115 million in its fourth quarter.

The Luxembourg-based company said it had a loss of 81 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 99 cents per share.

The communications and satellite company posted revenue of $517 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $913.6 million, or $6.51 per share. Revenue was reported as $2.06 billion.

Intelsat expects full-year revenue in the range of $1.93 billion to $1.98 billion.

The company's shares closed at $4.01. A year ago, they were trading at $21.62.
