23 May - Provident Romania, part of the International Personal Finance (IPF) group and the largest British employer in the country, is celebrating its tenth year of operations. A leading provider of home credit, Provident Romania has served over 800,000 customers since launching in June 2006.

Provident, which is also one of Romania's top 50 employers, employs over 4,500 people, including its home credit agents who meet customers in their homes and are critical to good lending decisions.

Serving customers through 70 branches in over 200 towns and cities across the country, it offers customers a range of home credit and other products to meet their everyday needs. In line with IPF's strategy, Provident Romania has a strong focus on growth and product diversification to attract new and retain existing customers, including its first monthly repayment product in 2015.

Viktor Boczan, Country Manager of Provident Romania, commented: 'Our ten year anniversary is an exciting landmark to have reached as we celebrate providing loans responsibly to people who want to borrow small sums and repay in manageable, affordable amounts. Moreover, I'm delighted that we were recently recognised as the best non-bank financial institution in Romania for excellent customer service by leading economic journal, Piata Financiara.'

'We look forward to welcoming more customers to the business as we continue to leverage our strong brand and committed workforce going forwards.'

Gerard Ryan, CEO of IPF said: 'As one of our growth home credit markets, we are committed to further building out our customer base, broadening our product offering and deepening our coverage in Romania to reach more customers. I'm pleased with what we have achieved since we launched ten years ago and see a continuation of the positive momentum.'

At the end of 2015, IPF's Southern European business, which includes Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, had 679,000 customers and in Q1 2016 credit issued increased year-on-year by 23%.
