Denim brand G-Star RAW has agreed terms with shopping centre owner intu to open its latest store at intu Metrocentre as part of the retailer's plan to expand across the UK by opening further stores.

The 2,454 sq ft store, which opens later this month, reflects the brand's latest UK endeavours on how to translate its brand identity to an exciting customer experience throughout its retail spaces.

G-Star RAW recently signed up for 2,500 sq ft space at intu Lakeside and has an existing store at Manchester Arndale, owned jointly by intu and M&G Real Estate.

Kate Grant, regional managing director, north, for intu, said: "Our flagship destination offers retailers high footfall combined with long dwell time, that's why we're seeing more and more retailers like G-Star RAW open their biggest and best stores here and have the confidence to invest in these stores for the long term. For the shopper, intu Metrocentre is a day-out destination where they can eat, shop and be entertained all under one roof."

Mary Doumtsi, general manager UK, for G-Star RAW, said: "We are really excited to bring the G-Star RAW brand to intu Metrocentre. This is a really important market for us and the beginning of our retail expansion in the UK. We hope customers across the north east of England connects with our innovative and sustainable approach to denim."

Other brands to recently sign up to the retail mix at intu Metrocentre include FatFace and Skechers.
