BOSTON, Oct. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE: IRM), the storage and information management company, has appointed Monte Ford to its board of directors, effective November 1, 2018. Adding Ford to the board increases Iron Mountain's board to twelve directors. Ford will be a member of both the Compensation and Risk and Safety Committees.

Ford, 59, is currently Principal Partner for the CIO Strategy Exchange (CIOSE) where he leads a cross-industry consortium of 50 of the most important chief information officers from some of the world's largest companies. He has thirty-five years of experience leading information technology organizations, previously serving as Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aptean, Inc. (Aptean), a producer of enterprise software, where he was responsible for all aspects of the company's business. Prior to Aptean, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of American Airlines, with responsibility for its information technology services (ITS) group, operations research and the airline's award-winning website, AA.com. Ford has also held executive management positions with The Associates First Capital Corporation, Bank of Boston and Digital Equipment Corporation. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.

Ford currently sits on the boards of The Michaels Companies Inc. and Akamai Technologies, Inc. Widely regarded as a leader in the field of information technology, Ford has been recognized as one of the '50 Smartest People in Technology' by Fortune magazine for his transformative leadership and progressive thinking as a CIO.
