Isuzu breaks ground for Bacoor dealership !-- -- Louella Desiderio (The Philippine Star) - December 9, 2019 - 12:00am MANILA, Philippines Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) is continuing the expansion of its network with the construction of a new dealership in Cavite.

This followed the opening last week of a new dealership in Oriental Mindoro to expand its reach in Luzon and help drive up sales. In a statement, IPC said it broke ground on a new dealership in Bacoor, which is considered among the fastest-growing gateways to metropolitan Manila.

Located along Molino Boulevard, the new dealership covers over 4,000 square meters featuring Isuzu's latest showroom design. It can put on display six light commercial vehicles and accommodate two truck service bays.

This new dealership will be operated by Isuzu Automotive Dealership Inc. (IADI), an authorized dealer of Isuzu commercial vehicles and wholly owned by Ayala Automotive Holdings Corp.

IADI and IPC have been partners since 1996. The partnership now has a nationwide network of nine dealerships. IPC president Hajime Koso said it is timely to put up a dealership in Bacoor City as it offers opportunities for the automotive firm.

"I see the current potential of Bacoor. Business activities are booming, especially in retail, banking, service and manufacturing sectors.

That is why Bacoor has the highest family income in the province of Cavite, making the city an ideal place to establish small and medium-sized businesses. I also see the city's future potential.

I believe Bacoor is not just the gateway to NCR (National Capital Region)," Koso said. He said the opening of the dealership shows the firm's commitment to cater to the transport needs of individuals and businesses in the country.

It sells light commercial vehicles such as the mu-X and D-MAX pickup commercial vehicles Traviz, N-Series, F-Series and CandE Series trucks as well as public utility vehicles. Last year, IPC like many other local automotive players, registered lower sales compared to 2017 as higher taxes slapped on automobiles under the government's tax reform program affected demand for vehicles.

IPC's total vehicle sales reached 16,729 units last year, down 44.4 percent from 2017. As of the end of September, IPC sold 10,178 units, 16 percent lower than the year ago.
