ITC Hotels announced on Tuesday the launch of its 14th luxury hotel in India, the ITC Royal Bengal in Kolkata.
ITC said the 456 keys ITC Royal Bengal is a tribute to the traditions and heritage of Bengal, which has been ITCs headquarters for over a 100 years. West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the new hotel.
ITC said the hotel has been built with an investment of nearly Rs 1400 crore and has banquet and convention facilities covering a total area of 61000 square feet.
The new hotel is adjacent to ITC Sonar, and the company said together, the two hotels will offer 693 rooms, suites and serviced apartments, 15 signature dining destinations, 22 meeting venues and 1,00,000 square feet of banqueting space.
Sanjiv Puri, chairman and managing director of ITC Ltd said: This signature property will provide further impetus to transforming the tourism landscape in the state and will be an icon of repute on the world tourism map. This landmark investment from ITC is a part of the companys growing footprint in the state across all sectors, namely agriculture, manufacturing and services.
Nakul Anand, executive director, ITC Ltd said the addition of ITC Royal Bengal to their luxury hotel portfolio further strengthens their presence in Eastern India.
