By BEIJING - June 25, 2013 - Ixia (Nasdaq: XXIA) recently participated in China Network World's independent testing program to validate the new Cisco ASR 1000 series routers, developed for enterprises and service providers. Ixia solutions were used to test the performance of the Cisco routers under the real-world conditions created by high loads of network traffic, including increasingly used technologies such as cloud computing and bandwidth-heavy mobile applications.

The Cisco ASR 1000 routers are mid-range routers that support converged cloud connection, application sense, and comprehensive security and policy control. CNW selected Ixia solutions to test and validate these new Cisco routers based on Ixia's strong reputation for delivering comprehensive solutions that provide actionable assessment insights into network infrastructures.
- Cisco and CNW selected the Ixia BreakingPoint FireStorm, XM12 testing platform and IxNetwork solutions to test for maximum load and simulation of real-life application traffic.
- Ixia solutions simulated a wide variety of application traffic with the more than 160 complex real-world user applications and 34,000 security attacks available in Ixia's Application and Threat Intelligence Library. The library is updated with new traffic protocols every two weeks.
- The Ixia solutions helped CNW significantly improve efficiency in the testing process with their easy-to-use features.
- Using Ixia solutions, CNW confirmed that the Cisco ASR 1000 routers achieved 120Gbps network throughput with up to 12 million concurrent sessions at a rate of 480K new sessions per second.
