Notice Concerning the Recording of Non-Operating Expense (Losses Related to Typhoon No. 21)

Japan Display, Inc. ("JDI") today announced that it will record a non-operating expense related to Typhoon No. 21 in the consolidated third quarter of fiscal year 2019 (October 1 - December 31, 2019) . Details of the expense is described below.

1. Non-operating expense

Due to the impact of Torrential rain caused by Typhoon No. 21, which passed through east of Japan on October 25, 2019, JDI incurred losses from a temporary suspension of the production at JDI's Mobara Plant (Mobara City, Chiba Prefecture), a damage to work in process goods, and other losses, which amounted to ¥618 million. The losses will be recorded under "other" in non-operatingexpenses in the third quarter of FY 2019.

As JDI is still discussing with the insurance company regarding these losses, the total amount of insurance payment to be received to cover the losses has not yet been finalized.

2. Outlook

The above-mentionednon-operating expense will be reflected in the "Consolidated Financial Results for the Nine Months of Fiscal Year 2019 [Japanese GAAP]" scheduled to be announced in February 2020.

The insurance payment that will cover the losses will be recorded as non-operating income once the amount is finalized.
