Massport, which manages Worcester Regional Airport, said it is "concerned" about issues plaguing JetBlue service to and from New York, which started less than a month ago.
The agency, without saying exactly how, did express confidence the service would improve soon.
Service between the Worcester airport, or ORH, and JFK Airport, which includes one departure and arrival each day, started May 3. Since then, according to the local website flyorh.com, run by Bill Randell, there have been several hiccups in the form of late and early arrivals, cancellations and flight diversions. Flyorh.com reports there have been 11 early flights, 14 late flights, four cancellations and one diversion to Boston'sLogan Airport.
Information from Massport revealed 13 on time or early flights and 10 delays. The agency listed the same number of diversions and cancellations as flyorh.com.
Responding by email to questions about the service interruptions, Massport media relations manager Samantha Hooper said, "We are concerned with the cancellations and delays of the JetBlue flights to and from JFK Airport but we are confident that JetBlue is doing their best to maintain operational integrity, and we expect better performance in the future."
The website posted an email from someone claiming to have been scheduled to fly from Worcester to JFK earlier this week. The person said the flight was cancelled around 8:30 the night before the scheduled 6 a.m. flight. The traveler reportedly was forced to fly out of Logan and would be late for a meeting in Manhattan. According to the traveler, a representative with Jet Blue's Mosaic program said she thought the problem involved the plane arriving at ORH, but no specific reason was given.
JetBlue did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The airline in November will mark five years operating at ORH.
In April, American Airlines announced it will start flying to Philadelphia from the airport in January. And there is mounting speculation that another major airline will be added soon. Flyorh.com has reported it is confident Delta Airlines will start offering flights to Detroit next year.
