Amman, March 18 (Petra) -- Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JoPetrol) said it had returned a contracted 90 octane gasoline shipment, due to violating the tender conditions in terms of compatibility with Jordanian technical standards.
In a statement issued Monday, the company said its laboratories examined samples of the 90 octane gasoline shipment, which was on board a ship anchored in the port of Aqaba, after samples of this shipment were taken in the presence of a representative of the Jordan Institution for Standards and Metrology (JISM) and all concerned parties.
The inspection showed that this shipment octane number is 89.5 and not 90 as required in the tender conditions. Then; the company directly informed the JISM with the laboratory tests results to take the necessary actions for this shipment, where the shipment was rejected and returned to the source.
