a free health and eye check-up camp for commercial vehicle drivers

Mumbai, 7thJune, 2019:The Commercial Banking unit of Kotak Mahindra Bank (Kotak), under its community wellbeing initiative #SehatkaSafar, organised a health and eye check-up camp for commercial vehicle drivers in Bhiwandi, a city in the Thane district of Maharashtra. Kotak is one of the leading players in the commercial vehicle financing segment in India.

Under this initiative, Kotak conducted a free health and eye check-up camp for drivers in Bhiwandi as well as educated them about existing social welfare schemes by the government such as Atal Pension Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Suraksha Yojana that they are eligible for.

said, "Commercial vehicle and truck drivers play a key role in transporting goods across the length and breadth of the country. Their nature of work involves long and irregular hours leading to erratic schedules and unhealthy eating habits. As a responsible corporate citizen, we organised #SehatkaSafarthat aims to make drivers aware of the importance of undertaking health check-ups on a regular basis."

So far, #SehatkaSafarhas been organised in Jaipur and Bhiwandi, where over 150 drivers have collectively participated. To ensure this initiative reaches out to commercial vehicle drivers across the country, Kotak will conduct #SehatkaSafarcamps in over 75 locations pan-India over the next few months.
