TÜV SÜD confirms compliance with enviro criteria for the Hydronomic water treatment system

The certification department of the technical inspectorate TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH has tested and certified Krones' Hydronomic water treatment system at the Einbecker Brewery in Einbeck, Germany, in line with the requirements of the enviro management system. So for the first time there is independent certification on file for Krones' water treatment system.

enviro confirms a pump efficiency optimally matched to the output involved for the Hydronomic RO water treatment system featuring membrane technology installed at the Einbecker Brewery. The energy consumption is up to 20 per cent lower than with conventional systems. Thanks to intelligent control system queries and a production mode matched to the actual demand for permeate, the environmental impact of the concentrate is minimised. In addition, the gentle treatment of the membranes means useful lifetimes are longer, as indeed are the replacement cycles needed. All care and maintenance intervals have been specifically matched to the machine's actual requirements, and staff will be alerted in good time, thus making it easier to plan the downtimes for accommodating the maintenance work involved. With enviro, moreover, the operators receive special instructions on sustainable control and operation of the machine. In addition, enviro supports them in selecting the best-suited additives. The processing materials needed for the Hydronomic RO comply with the enviro checklist, and thus meet the requirements laid down in TÜV SÜD's environmental criteria. By adjusting to changes in the mains water quality, the enviro Hydronomic also provides automatic quality assurance.

The measurements recorded in the test report in regard to power demand, wastewater quantity and compressed-air consumption were likewise confirmed. This means that the consumption forecasts in the Hydronomic RO's enviro passport have also been validated. The TÜV SÜD inspectorate certified, referenced to an output measuring 40 cubic metres an hour of permeate, a minimal power consumption (permeate) of 0.34 kilowatts per hour and cubic metre, a minimal wastewater quantity of 7.9 cubic metres an hour, and a minimal compressed-air consumption of 0.01 standard cubic metres an hour.

This enviro certification from TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH is another significant step forwards for Krones in its long-term strategy of market launches for sustainably operating machines and lines.
