Kyocera Corporation (President: Hideo Tanimoto; hereunder: Kyocera) today announced that the 'Corporate Solar Energy Group' was renamed 'Corporate Smart Energy Group' as of April 1, 2020. There is no change to the General Manager for this division.

Until now, the 'Corporate Solar Energy Group' has focused on developing, manufacturing, and selling solar power generating systems, storage batteries, fuel cells (SOFCs), and other environmental and energy-related products.

However, at present, there is a pressing need to further expand the use of renewable energy both in Japan and overseas in order to safeguard the Earth's environment and combat global warming. As such, the newly renamed 'Corporate Smart Energy Group' aims to develop its business while focusing on the power service business by utilizing solar power generating systems, the virtual power plant business by utilizing storage batteries and fuel cells (SOFCs), and other services such as regional energy management, as well as conventional environmental and energy-related products. By focusing on these areas the division aims to create new value within Kyocera.

By changing the name of the business group to the 'Corporate Smart Energy Group,' which represents a wider range of business operations, Kyocera will contribute to the realization of a low-carbon society as well as the advancement and development of a more sustainable society, while further expanding our business fields.
