RESTON, Va., Feb. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Leidos (NYSE: LDOS), a FORTUNE 500® science, information technology, and engineering leader, announced that 10 employees will be recognized at the 33rd Annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA) science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) Conference in Washington, D.C. on Feb. 7-9. The conference allows students, educators and a wide variety of STEM professionals to connect and share their experiences and information.

Paul Engola, Leidos Chief Human Resources Officer, will present eight of the Leidos employees with a Modern Day Technology Leader Award during a Technology Recognition luncheon on Friday, Feb. 8. This recognition identifies exceptional professionals who are developing cutting-edge technology or doing vital research in science for the government, private industry, and local communities. Leidos employees receiving this honor include, Scott Ball, George Boone, Clayton Crosby, Merinda Elliott-James, Quana Frost, Lacresha Nelson, Tedena Wheeler, and Vonda Williams.

Engola will also present Ursel Allen with the Stephanie C. Hill Legacy Award during the HBCU Engineering Deans' Power Breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 9. Ursel is directly responsible for managing a budget of $47 million in addition to leading a team of 26 data engineers.

Roger Krone, Leidos Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, will present Gerald Gaskins with the Technical Sales and Marketing Award during the BEYA Awards Gala. Gerald manages some of the company's largest IT contracts for the federal government and has captured billions of dollars in new business.
