Live Nation Entertainment : To Exclusively Book California’s Historic Majestic Ventura Theatre

(Los Angeles, CA. - December 6, 2018) Ventura County's Majestic Ventura Theatre and Live Nation today announced that the venue will become part of Live Nation's Clubs & Theatres national portfolio of exclusively booked properties.

Live Nation Clubs & Theatres division owns, operates and books landmark clubs and theatres throughout the United States, including The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles and The Tabernacle in Atlanta as well as the House of Blues and Fillmore venues. The company promotes more than 15,000 shows in over 125 venues nationwide including properties in New York, Denver, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Orlando, San Antonio and now in Ventura.

'Ventura and The Majestic Ventura Theater were the next logical move for us in SoCal. 'This agreement with Live Nation will enhance concert-goers musical entertainment choices at the Majestic, while growing Ventura as a competitive music market by attracting shows that would normally bypass Ventura.

Built in 1927, the 1200-capacity Theatre was the only luxury theatre built in Ventura County in the 1920's in the 'style of the great movie palaces.' The lavish, elegant interior of gilt and opulence was favored by architects of motion picture theaters during that period. In 1927 Ventura was a bustling oil boom town when the grand opening featured an organ solo, the latest news, Our Gang Comedy and a vaudeville act.

'We've come a long way from organ solos,' said Weeden. 'Bringing great musical performers to markets we enter is something we work very hard at. The Majestic is an amazing venue with an extraordinary history. Its future is going to be even brighter.'
