Designation provides additional certification of premium sub-flooring panels' superior performance.

Nashville, Tenn. (October 17, 2019) - LP Legacy®premium sub-flooring has earned a Structural I rating, also known as STRUC-I from APA - The Engineered Wood Association. The designation certifies that the panels have passed not only APA's manufacturing and performance standards, the association says, but additional requirements such as increased racking performance related to shear wall and diaphragm values and increased cross panel strength and stiffness properties.

The STRUC-I rating is further evidence of the outstanding performance and reliability of LP Legacy panels for even the most demanding applications. Product reports indicate that LP Legacy premium sub-flooring is the stiffest in its class and one of the strongest on the market.

'Since the inception of LP Legacy sub-flooring, we've strived to showcase its exceptional strength, stiffness, and moisture resistance, not only through standard industry testing but also our own extreme testing program and through a 14-month, four-stage study conducted by scientists at the University of Maine,' says Kelly Harmon, LP's Senior National Product Manager for OSB and EWP. 'The STRUC-1 designation provides yet more proof that LP Legacy sub-flooring is one of the highest-performing OSB sub-flooring products on the market and is a top choice for discerning builders.'

Made with Gorilla Glue Technology®, LP Legacy sub-flooring panels also offer superior moisture resistance and carry a Covered Until It's Covered®no-sand warranty. The panel's stiffness makes it ideal for hardwood flooring and tile applications, and high panel density provides exceptional fastener holding strength and a quieter floor.
