Marriott International Inc. is contacting up to 5.2 million guests regarding a data breach, the company's second major incident since 2018.

Marriott said the breach involved hackers using the credentials of two employees of a franchise property. The company said in late February it discovered that an unusual amount of guest information may have been leaked.

The accessed data involves names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, Marriott Bonvoy loyalty account information, dates of birth, linked airline accounts and room preference information.

Marriott said it does not believe the data involves passwords, payment information or PINs, drivers license or passport information, according to a press release.

The company has set up www.mysupport.marriott.com, with additional information regarding how to deal with the breach and providing one year of free membership in IdentityWorks, which is a monitoring service for personal data.

In November 2018 a record breach involving more than 500 million guests hit the company's Starwood guest accounts
