Medical technology: Innovative approaches in hose extrusion

Compamed in Düsseldorf opens its doors from 12 to 15 November - with the two medical technology brands of the Masterflex Group. Novoplast Schlauchtechnik and FLEIMA-PLASTIC will present innovative approaches in the field of hose extrusion at the trade fair for the medical supplier industry and product development: The manufacture of pre-cut hoses in which the hose is not completely cut during the manufacturing process, but only to a certain extent.

This technology, known as 'pre-perforation' or 'pre-cut', allows the hoses to be wound up and shipped in rolls, without the customer having to cut them to length. The shortened working step allows a more efficient design of the further processing - for example during the assembly of a hose set.

Typical areas of application are infusion lines, tube sets for contrast medium injection or systems for vacuum wound therapy (NPWT). The procedure can be used in a wide diameter range and with different degrees of hardness in the soft PVC (DEHP-free) area. It is also possible to perforate double tubes. In addition, FLEIMA-PLASTIC can develop and manufacture individual connecting elements for these hose types. With more than 40 years of know-how in tool making and injection moulding, creative solutions from a single source are possible.

Novoplast Schlauchtechnik and FLEIMA-PLASTIC have been successfully combining extrusion and injection moulding technologies in demanding medical technology projects for many years.
