Metso Corporation's press release on March 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. EET

Metso continues to develop the global supply operations of its Minerals Consumables business by establishing a rubber and poly-met wear parts manufacturing facility in Lithuania. The new manufacturing location will start operations at the end of second quarter of 2020.

"We need to actively respond to changes in our competitive environment and improve our flexibility in fulfilling our mining customers' needs globally. Based on our analysis, Lithuania has been identified as an attractive location for a new manufacturing hub. The closeness of our current customers in the Europe, Russia, Middle East and Africa region, efficient logistics network, sustainable operational environment and favorable market conditions were important criteria in the decision making," says Sami Takaluoma, President, Minerals Consumables business area.

The new facility is located in the region of Šiauliai (Šiauliai län) in northern Lithuania. The factory will employ 80 people by end of 2020.

Today, Metso is the leading provider of rubber and poly-met mill lining, with a strong service network in all the main mining markets.
