Metso presents its industry-leading minerals processing solutions at the MENA Mining Show in Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Metso Corporation's press release on October 6, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. EEST

Metso's minerals processing solutions enable mines and quarries to improve safety, reduce costs per ton, enhance energy efficiency and lower emissions. Meet the Metso experts at the MENA Mining Show 2015, Booth D20, Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, October 6-7, 2015.

Metso is the world's leading provider of crushing and grinding technology. At the MENA Mining Show 2015, Metso will showcase results gained with its solutions for in-pit crushing and conveying and minerals processing, among others.

Case: In-pit crushing and conveying saves costs, improves sustainability and safety

To help mines and quarries reduce costs and emissions as well as prevent traffic-related injuries, Metso offers a wide portfolio of in-pit crushing and conveying (IPCC) solutions ranging from stationary installations to fully mobile Lokotrack® plants and Lokolink(TM) conveyors.

With a fully mobile in-pit crushing and conveying system, an excavator loads material directly into the hopper of a mobile crushing plant, instead of feeding a dump truck. Crushed rock is then transported to an in-pit belt conveyor via mobile conveyors and onwards to the secondary plant - no dump trucks required.

The in-pit crushing and proper sorting of the waste rock also enables it to be used as backfill and for other site infrastructure purposes. Preventing it from entering the following phases of the process, such as grinding, has significant impacts on the profit per ton.

Case: Metallurgic recovery capacity a lmost doubled

Özdogu Construction & Trade is a Metso customer in Turkey and a great example of the results that Metso's knowledge in minerals processing brings.

Metso optimized Özdogu's copper and molybdenum production in three steps: change the pumps to increase capacity of slurry throughput, adapt the flotation cells to the new capacity, and balance out the process with VisioFroth(TM), a system that measures parameters correlated to flotation cell performance.

'When Metso stepped in, they brought not only the engineering and efficiency know-how, but a complete analysis of the process. They helped us adjust our flotation system to almost double our production capacity. They proved to be much more than an equipment supplier. They are a services and problem-solving partner,' says Volkan Baskan, Mining Engineer at Özdogu.

Today Özdogu is counting on a 3-5 percent improvement in copper and molybdenum recovery.

Metso's presentations at the show

At the MENA Mining Show, Metso will give a conference presentation on operating cost reduction with a focus on crushing and screening plants as well as a seminar presentation about Metso as a minerals processing solutions provider. There will also be a roundtable discussion on applying proven concepts to improve mine-mill reconciliation.
