BT Group PLC on Friday said it has appointed Rob Shuter, currently chief executive and president of MTN Group Ltd., as the next CEO of its enterprise unit, replacing Gerry McQuade.

Mr. Shuter, who previously served as CEO of Vodafone Group PLC's European cluster, is expected to join the company by the end of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2021, the U.K. telecommunications group said. He will also be a member of the company's executive committee, BT said.

South Africa-based MTN in March said Mr. Shuter would step down at the end of his current four-year contract in March 2021.

Mr. McQuade will be retiring from BT, having spent more than 12 years at EE and then BT, the company said.
