Nanogate Completes the N-Metals Design Technology Platform With Aluminum and Copper Look

- Technology platform expanded to include metal appearance as well as wet chemical processes

- Current customer negotiations and millions in orders confirm high market interest

- Construction of the US competence center going according to plan

Göttelborn, Germany, December 5, 2018. Nanogate SE, a leading global specialist for design-oriented high-tech surfaces and components, has expanded, and thus completed, its N-Metals Design platform to include additional applications for metallizing plastics. The available plastic enhancements are also suited for the creation of aluminum, copper and other surfaces. The development of the technology platform is therefore largely completed.

Ralf Zastrau, CEO of Nanogate SE: 'We've experienced a great deal of interest in Europe and North America with our metallization technology. Our plastics systems offer new design options and additional functions that are compatible with modern electronics, environmentally-friendly and very economical. Along with the chrome and stainless steel alternative, we now have a comprehensive product range and can reproduce many other metals with innovative plastics systems. This means that the significant investments and start-up costs will pay off over the medium term. Considerable existing orders, successful initial series production and current negotiations with new interested parties encourage us to be optimistic about our further development.'

Thanks to N-Metals Design, Nanogate has a comprehensive, market-leading technology platform for metallizing plastics. Now that the development of the product range has been finalized, aluminum and copper surfaces as well as precious metal systems are available to supplement chrome and stainless steel. The Group thus covers a whole host of geometrics and can integrate easy-clean and anti-fingerprint functionalities or even colors into metallized surface concepts.

The current systems on offer are in great demand. Nanogate has received an order with a sales volume of up to USD 100 million, and has thus managed to break into the market for stainless steel alternatives. Starting in 2019, the Group will be supplying components for kitchen appliances to a renowned US manufacturer. A heat-resistant plastic is used here, which is metallized in a process developed and integrated by Nanogate. The technology is based on innovative forming processes and multifunctional enhancement.

Furthermore, Nanogate rounds off its N-Metals Design portfolio with innovative wet chemical processes. These solutions enable metallization in a chrome look in the form of a coating, which offers cost-effective alternatives to classic electroplating. In this way, Nanogate can particularly target price-conscious market segments.

At the same time, construction of the new competence center in the US is also going according to plan. It will begin operations at the site in Mansfield, Ohio, in the coming year. The goal is to strengthen and accelerate the marketing of the N-Metals Design technology platform in North America. The Group has received USD 2 million in funding for its construction.
