To mark Africa Youth Day, Nestlé is highlighting its global youth initiative across the continent, and announcing the launch of Alliance for YOUth in Morocco.
Nestlé is determined to help young people develop their skills so that they can find jobs or create their own businesses. The company wants to help equip the next generation for employment, to become inspiring leaders - successful agripreneurs, entrepreneurs and game changers, regardless of their field or level of expertise.
Over the last decade Nestlé has helped prepare hundreds of thousands of young people in Africa and beyond for work, trained and supported 4 million farmers and helped 2 million women develop business skills.
But we're determined to do more and make a positive difference beyond Nestlé, by partnering with governments, foundations, youth organizations, academia and the private sector.
This is why Nestlé is launching the Alliance for YOUth in Morocco today with Hikma, HPS, Intelcia, L'Oréal, Nielsen and Sodexo.
Nestlé first founded the business-driven movement Alliance for YOUth in Europe in 2014, to help prepare young people to enter the professional world.
As part of Nestlé Needs YOUth, the company also supports young people to develop entrepreneurship skills that will help them set up their companies and create jobs for their communities.
Nestlé is supporting the Youth Entrepreneurship and Self-Employment (YES) Forum in Dakar, Senegal on November 13, where you can meet entrepreneurs like Vital Sounouvou, the founder of Exportunity Global Trade Hub.This online trading platform connects B2B and B2C buyers and sellers across Africa.
Vital Sounouvou is also taking part in Nestlé's Social Investment Accelerator Programme. This year, it aims to help young social entrepreneurs across Africa gain access to finance, to enable them to create further growth impact and employment opportunities for other young people.
