Nestle SA will invest more than 100 million Swiss francs ($102.9 million) in factories in China to build up its footprint in the country, it said Wednesday.

Pet food and plant-based products are among the areas that should benefit from the investment, the Swiss giant said.

"In addition, there will be new investment for the confectionery business," it said.
