NetEase Inc. said Thursday that its second-quarter net revenues rose 26% from a year earlier, helped by strong performance of its online games and cloud music services.

Net revenues were 18.2 billion yuan ($2.6 billion), the Chinese internet company said. Net revenues for online-game services rose 21% to CNY13.8 billion.

This was the company's first quarterly earnings release since it listed in Hong Kong earlier this year.

Net income from continuing operations attributable to shareholders was CNY4.5 billion, up from CNY3.35 billion in the year-ago period, the company said.

"With the continuous expansion of our abundant games pipeline, we are more confident and committed than ever to extending our reach to a broader market," Chief Executive William Ding said.
