Saginaw, Mich. - August 7, 2019 - Nexteer Automotive, a global leader in intuitive motion control, held its 9th annual EPS driven racing event for more than 100 of the Company's summer interns and co-ops as the culmination of their summer projects.
Eight student teams were provided each with an electric power steering (EPS) motor, a car battery and a $300 budget to develop their go-kart. The go-karts and teams were judged by a panel of Nexteer executives on originality, racing performance and innovative use of scrap material from Nexteer's Saginaw production facilities.
'EPS Driven is a highlight of the summer for our Nexteer interns and co-ops. Our Nexteer student employees enjoy the fun, competitive opportunity to gain real life design experience while bonding with their peers,' said Nik von Matt, R&D Manager for Product Engineering, Nexteer Automotive.
