FALLS CHURCH, Va. - Nov. 12, 2018 - Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) employee Adrian Cottin received the Diversity Award at the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) conference held this weekend in Cleveland, Ohio. SHPE awards honor outstanding professionals for their dedication, commitment, and selfless efforts to advance Hispanics in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

            Cottin is an electronics engineer in hardware engineering in Northrop Grumman Mission Systems supporting space, and research and development programs. He received the Diversity Award recognizing his efforts at work and in the community to support Hispanic advancement, and diversity and inclusion. He has been active in SHPE since 2000 and was the University of Maryland student chapter president in 2002-2003. Cottin has served as an executive board member of Adelante, the Northrop Grumman Hispanic employee resource group since 2007. Currently he is the vice chair of Adelante. Part of his community involvement includes supporting bi-monthly science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) events at Lakeland Elementary/Middle School in Baltimore City.

            Cottin earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
