Long queues have reappeared in petrol filling stations on Thursday in Abuja metropolis and its environs.

Daily Trust Reporter who went round the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) gathered that the queues resurfaced early morning at many petrol filling stations in the metropolis and its environs.

Our reporter also gathered that the affected petrol filling stations include, NNPC Mega station and Oando located at Zone one, Mobile filling station located at Utako, NIPCO filling station located at Kuchigoro, along Airport road, Total filling station and NNPC Mega filling station locate at Airport road among others.

Speaking to Daily Trust, a Business man, Mr Ejike Itayo said 'I decided to buy fuel at NNPC Mega station at Zone One on reaching there I saw long queues. I quickly turned back to Oando filling station beside it but it was the same thing. I don't have a choice I followed the queue like that.

'The queue was not moving. We spent several hours in one place. Later I decided to go to another filling station at airport road. I joint another queue but later I got it the fuel'. He said

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has called on motorists in Abuja, its environs and other parts of the country not to engage in panic buying of petroleum products.

The plea by the corporation comes on the heels of queues noticeable in some fuel stations, especially in Abuja.

The latest fuel queues started building up from Wednesday night and by Thursday morning had spread to more retail stations in the nation's capital.
