Oman's data experience leaders, Ooredoo, launched the country's first branded snapchat geofilter for the young and young at heart over the Eid Al Adha period. The popular geofilter invited snapchatters to share their favourite moments with the hashtag #كل_يوم_هدية for a chance to win a gift box set from Ooredoo in celebration with the launch of Ooredoo's Deal of the Day offer for Shababiah and Mousbak customers. The daily surprises offer free data, credit, discounted bundles and more.

Operating in a similar way to digital stickers, Snapchat's innovative geofilters are special overlays for Snaps which can only be accessed in certain locations. With the recent introduction of Snapchat's advertising features in the Omani market, Ooredoo has since emerged as the first company in the Sultanate to promote its brand and reach out to local communities through a geofilter.

Feras Al Sheikh, Director of Consumer Sales at Ooredoo, said, 'We are always looking for ways to enhance experiences, a dedication that has inspired us to constantly engage customers on multiple social media channels. As a result our comprehensive approach, we have continued to reach the largest audience of any company in Oman with our content attracting over 767k fan base combined across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. The launch of our geofilter joins a long line of exclusive initiatives developed to increase social media engagement. The response we received from customers so far has been nothing short of remarkable surpassing regional benchmarks by generating over 1,798,055 direct impressions and over 19,000 uses since its introduction.'

Ooredoo has continued to harness the power of social media to engage and reach out to customers through a number of highly innovative promotions, campaigns and products tailored to their unique needs in today's digital world. With the highly popular Shababiah service, the company has taken social media engagement to new heights and offered tech savvy millennials the most cost-effective bundles to stay connected.

He added, 'We are always looking for ways to leverage social media to interact with customers in meaningful, two-way communication, and that includes being present on the latest emerging platforms such as Snapchat. This enables us to provide our followers with current and relevant information quickly and seamlessly whether it's showcasing new offers like 'Deal of the Day' or raising awareness on the continued expansion of our 4G network.'
