Organización Soriana, S.A.B. de C.V. (Soriana) celebrated
during March the grand opening of the stores Mercado Express
"Vicente Centro" and "Huixtla", located in the cities of
Vicente Guerrero, Durango and Huixtla, in the state of
Chiapas. As well as the Mercado Soriana stores "Amalucan",
"Central Saltillo" and "Casas Grandes" located in the states
of Puebla, Coahuila and Chihuahua, respectively.
Furthermore, during the first quarter of the year a total of
nine stores were opened, six in Mercado Express format and
three in Mercado Soriana format.
Finally, with these new stores is achieved an increase in
installed capacity of sales floor area of 19,519 sq. mts, the
creation of 650 new permanent jobs and an investment made of
$340 million pesos for the construction and start of
operations, resulting a total of 567 units in operation
nationwide.
