SENNINGERBERG, Luxembourg (AP) _ Orion Engineered Carbons SA (OEC) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter profit of $19 million.

The Senningerberg, Luxembourg-based company said it had net income of 31 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and amortization costs, came to 42 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 38 cents per share.

The producer of the chemcial additive carbon black posted revenue of $322.4 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $86.9 million, or $1.42 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.48 billion.

Orion Engineered Carbons shares have decreased 12% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $17.01, a decrease of 39% in the last 12 months.
