PPL-operatedGambatSouth Block adds 35 MMscfdto national gas supply

Sanghar, December 23, 2016: Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources ShahidKhaqanAbbasiformally inaugurated the recently commissioned 50 MMscfdGas Processing Facility II (GPF-II) at GambatSouth Block during a well-attended event hosted by Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL). The occasion drew a diverse gathering comprising provincial and local government officials, area notables and media representatives.

Working on full capacity, GPF-IIis currently producing 35 MMscfdpipeline quality sales gas, nearly 680 bpdcondensate and 12 mtdLPG, which translates to more than 2.3 MMBOEannually, resulting in an annual saving of USD 105 million to the national exchequer.

Located in district Sanghar, Sindh, GambatSouth is operated by PPLwith 65 percent working interest. So far, eight discoveries - Wafiq, Shahdad, Sharf, Kinza, Faiz(two formations), Kabirand Hatim- have been made in the block. Of these, Shahdadis already producing 6 MMscfdsales gas and 80 bpdcondensate through GPF-Icommissioned since mid-2015.

In his welcome address, MD and CEO SyedWamiqBokharigave an overview of the company's exploration and production programmewith a focus on production enhancement efforts from GambatSouth. He also shared PPL'srecent achievements, including net production crossing the 1 Bcfpdemark, and the current year's ambitious plan of drilling a record 28 wells. In addition, Bokharispoke on PPL'sCSR efforts in Sindh, including District Sanghar.

Speaking on the occasion, Abbasicommended PPLon its efforts to support the government's resolve to bridge the demand-supply gap.

Looking ahead, PPLplans to install GPF-IIIwith a processing capacity of 60 MMscfdto tap additional reserves from the block. GPF-IIIis expected to be completed by the close of 2017.
