Phillips 66 (PSX) reported above-normal gas emissions over the weekend at its refinery in Texas.
"During normal operations, a valve closed...which caused all sulfur gas to get diverted to the incinerator," the refinery said in a statement to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. It said the emissions happened Saturday night, lasting less than an hour.
The 247,000-barrel-a-day Sweeny refinery is in Old Ocean, southwest of Houston.
