Playtech : Sports strengthens senior management team

Three major appointments join rapidly growing sports division ahead of large-scale Playtech ONE project deliveries

London: September 82016 - Playtech Sports has significantly strengthened its management team with a trio of senior appointments ahead of a number of large-scale Playtech ONE projects and recent acquisitions including leading sports software provider BGT.

Richard Andrew has joined Playtech Sports as Chief Operating Officer (COO) from The Hong Kong Jockey Club; Danny Angus has joined as Chief Technical Officer (CTO) from OpenBet; Eoin Redmond will join Playtech Sports from Paddy Power Betfair on October 1 as Sportsbook Product Director; while Peter Greberg has been appointed as Technical Director and leader of the division's Malmo operations.

Ian Chuter, who joined Playtech in October last year as a strategic advisor, will leave the business on October 31 to join the newly merged Ladbrokes-Coral business as Chief Operating Officer - Digital.

Chuter's specific remit during his 12-month term was to review the overall Playtech Sports offering and to consolidate the various sports subsidiaries into a single, unified Playtech Sports operation alongside the hiring of a new senior management team.

Richard Andrew, COO, Playtech Sports, has more than 20 years' experience in the sports betting industry having recently worked at The Hong Kong Jockey Club and formerly at Ladbrokes where he was Trading, Product and Services Director.

Danny Angus, CTO, Playtech Sports, is a highly experienced, senior software solutions architect and joins from OpenBet where he was Product Director responsible for all of OpenBet's in-venue technology.

Eoin Redmond was previously Lead Product Manager Exchange and Sportsbook at Betfair and will join Playtech Sports as Sportsbook Product Director on October 1. Redmond has extensive experience developing successful products and implementing process improvement strategies across the IT and gaming industries having worked for IBM, Full Tilt and Betfair.

Playtech ONE, the company's pioneering Omni-channel technology that enables players to use one account and one wallet to access any product across any channel, using any device, has been a huge success since the Coral Connect initiative was first implemented across Coral's retail, online and mobile estate. Coral Group's third quarter results last week showed that Connect sign-ups totalled 74,000 during the quarter, with Connect customers contributing 48% of coral.co.uk net revenue.
