Principal Financial : Real Estate Investors announces new senior director of marketing

Principal Real Estate Investors today announced a new senior director of marketing, Reza Basharzad. Basharzad now serves as a direct connection to real estate consultant research teams and investors and supports Principal's global real estate business.

In his new role, Basharzad will work with both the real estate portfolio management teams and generalist sales and consultant relations staff to identify and provide solutions for clients across all four quadrants. Basharzad assumed the role in May 2019 and is located in the Los Angeles metro area.

Basharzad reports to Michelle Fang, senior managing director at Principal Real Estate Investors, who heads Principal Real Estate Investors global marketing and product development team.

Basharzad joins Principal Real Estate Investors from QIC where he served as Director of Institutional Capital, responsible for all capital raising activities for real estate, infrastructure, private equity and liquid strategies across the US and Canada. Prior to that, he spent seven years at Paladin Realty Partners, during which he was responsible for growing the firm's institutional fund business. Reza began his career at SunAmerica AIG's variable annuity group and then spent five years at Triton Pacific Capital, a Los Angeles-based real estate investment bank, specializing in raising institutional capital for emerging real estate managers. Reza received his Bachelors and Masters of Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
