PTBA : A Place of Learning For Academics

One of the commitment of PT Bukit Asam (Persreo) Tbk for education in this country that is by accepting the academics who visited the Tanjung Enim Mining Unit (UPTE) to conduct excursion studies or field trip.

As stated by Deputy General Manager of UPTE, Edwin Budi Satrio, PTBA is open to advance education if they choose PTBA as a place of learning, especially in terms of mining.

'We are always eager to establish a broader relationship with the academics, so that cooperation creates a mutually beneficial synergy for both parties,' said Edwin Budi Satrio when attending the group from the State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta in front of the Head Office PTBA Tanjung Enim, on Thursday (13/7).

This university came to PTBA with 4 lecturers and 33 students of the Mining Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Jakarta, previously visited Bukit Asam Coal Tarahan Unit on Monday (10/7) followed by UPTE on 11-12 July 2017. The group continued their visit to Kertapati Palembang Unit before return to Jakarta.

One thing that makes the field trip from UIN Jakarta to be special is Senior Director of PTBA, Milawarma, who became one of the lecturers to accompany the group of students. According to him, as one of the lecturers of mining planning lecture at UIN Jakarta, a field trip study by visiting PTBA is an opportunity that should not be missed.

'As a miner who grew up in PTBA, I want to satisfy my sense by re-inhaling the smell of coal here. It's real, not kidding, 'said Milawarma.

UPTE PTBA often become the preferred location of various academicians from all over Indonesia to conduct excursion studies. With professionals in mining, academics need PTBA mining practitioners to share directly their experience as a science for the next generation.
