Each year, Raven team members around the world celebrate Peak Performance, one of our strategic Dimensions of Competition. Simply put, Peak Performance is our commitment to prepare ourselves as individuals, as well as a corporation, to be our best. In a week-long celebration that we call Peak Week, team members are encouraged to embrace our commitment to continual improvement and participate in activities that help them improve their personal wellness in the areas of Mind, Body, and Spirit. Overall, Peak Week is an opportunity for Raven team members to strive further in their individual Peak Performance endeavors, try new activities, and set well-being goals - while having some fun along the way! This year, over 200 team members participated. Here are some examples of some activities that they completed throughout the week:

  • On Mind Day, team members viewed TED Talks, read books, took part in the Sioux Falls SculptureWalk, and learned a wide variety of skills. They also displayed their creativity through various forms of art.

I particularly enjoy the Mind aspect of Peak Performance. I endeavor to always be learning something new, whether it be a technical skill, history, or a self-improvement concept.'

- John Gaard, Test Engineer
  • On Body Day, team members participated in many physical activities, including biking, running, walking, tennis, and more. They also cooked numerous healthy meals, as nutrition is an important component of physical well-being.
  • On Spirit Day, we encouraged team members to pursue a deeper sense of purpose and connectedness. Team members around the world worked on their inner spiritual well-being through practicing yoga, writing in journals, and spending time in personal meditation and reflection. Team members from around the company also left a great impact on our communities by volunteering. Team members in Sioux Falls, SD volunteered at The Banquet, where they served a meal to 205 adults and 16 children; and at Feeding South Dakota, where team members packed 550 bags of food for communities around South Dakota. In Madison, SD, team members served lunches at Madison Middle and High School.

The week culminated in Peak Celebration events across the company, with all Raven locations hosting their own festivities. They enjoyed a variety of team-building activities, including calisthenics, stretching and yoga, a two-mile walk, bowling, and golf.

To conclude the week, team members were encouraged to spend some time to set Peak Performance goals that will help them maintain a level of continuous well-being and improvement in the coming year. Internally, Peak Week isn't viewed as simply a set of celebrations, but rather as an opportunity for Raven team members to explore new activities and push themselves further in their personal performance and well-being.

I've participated in various activities during Peak Week since its inception in 2016. It's the perfect time to reflect on what habits I can add, change, or learn something new. I believe when we take time to care of ourselves, we feel invigorated and energized to perform at our peak. Peak Week reinforces this so that we can be innovative and productive team members within our organization to better serve our customers.'

- Beth Bird, Digital Marketing Specialist

Raven is grateful to the team members who participated in this wonderful celebration of Peak Performance, and we look forward to continuing the celebration next year!
