Regis Resources Limited (ASX: RRL) ('Regis' or 'the Company') is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Lynda Burnett as an independent Non-Executive Director of the Company, effective 27 November 2019.

Mrs Burnett has an impressive track-record as a geologist and brings additional experience as a director of ASX-listed mining companies. Currently, Mrs Burnett is the Managing Director of ASXlisted explorer Sipa Resources (ASX: SRI) having held that position since July 2014.

Prior to joining Sipa, Mrs Burnett held the position of Director - Exploration Australia for Newmont Asia Pacific, with responsibility for the strategic planning, budgeting and management of all of Newmont's near-mine and greenfields exploration projects in the Asia-Pacific region, including the Tanami, Jundee, KCGM and Boddington mines as well as the McPhillamys gold deposit which is now owned by Regis.

During her over 30 year career, Mrs Burnett has also held senior geological positions with Plutonic Resources, Newcrest Mining, Worsley Alumina and was a Director of ASX-listed Summit Resources.

Mrs Burnett holds an Honours degree in geology from Queensland University, is Chair of the Advisory Board for the Centre of Exploration Targeting at the University of Western Australia and is also a member of AusIMM, the Society of Economic Geologists and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
