REN Redes Energeticas Nacionais : obtains new SIGQAS certification

REN received at the beginning of August the certification of the quality, environment and safety and health management system in accordance with the new edition of the quality and environment standards (ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015, respectively), maintaining the certification on work safety and health according to the standard NP 4397:2008/OHSAS 18001:2007.
The APCER-Associação Portuguesa de Certificação (Portuguese Certification Association) report confirmed the transition and maintaince of the quality, environment and safety and health management system's certification comprising the following companies: REN SGPS, Rede Elétrica Nacional, REN Gasodutos, REN Armazenagem, REN Atlântico, REN Serviços, REN Telecom, Enondas and R&D Nester.
In 2018, is also foreseen the transition of the safety and health certification to the new standard (ISO 45001).
This audit took place under the new certification cycle that took off this year and will end in 2020.

REN - Redes Energéticas Nacionais, SGPS, S.A. specializes in the operation and concession management of the Portuguese electricity transportation network. Net sales break down by activity sector as follows:
- electricity (63.7%): transportation of electricity from producers to end distributors and consumers, management of the electricity transportation network (connecting user installations to the network, maintenance of the network, etc.). At the end of 2022, the network has a total of 9,424 Km;
- gas (34.8%): transportation of natural gas from producers to end distributors and industrial consumers, underground storage of natural gas, receiving, storage, and regasification of liquid natural gas (LNG), infrastructure construction and maintenance services, etc.;
- telecommunications (1.3%);
- other (0.2%).
