Tokyo, Dec 4 (EFE).- The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance announced Wednesday the appointment of Hadi Zablit as the new general secretary.
"The Alliance General Secretary will coordinate and facilitate major Alliance projects that are to be launched to accelerate business efficiencies for the respective companies," the alliance said in a statement.
The appointment takes place after the operating board decided during a meeting in France last week to appoint a general secretary "for coordinating and facilitating several major Alliance projects that are to be launched to accelerate business efficiencies for the respective companies," according to a statement it released later.
Zablit, who has dual Lebanese and French citizenship, has been senior vice president of business development since March 2018 and CEO of the Alliance joint-ventures dedicated to autonomous mobility services since June 2019.
He will report to the alliance's operating board and the CEOs of the three companies under the authority of Renault Chairman Jean-Dominique Senard.
Zablit's appointment is yet another step in the restructuring of the top leadership of the alliance and of the partner companies following the dismissal of Thierry Bollore as CEO of Renault in October and the designation that same month of Makoto Uchida as the new CEO of Nissan, all this after a power vacuum in and destabilization of the alliance caused by the removal of disgraced former CEO Carlos Ghosn.
