ROSI REGS : In the Doing Business World Bank Ranking, Russia For the First Time Climbed to 7th Place According to the Indicator “Connection to the Electric Grids”

According to the data published today, in the ranking of the World Bank Group Doing Business, the Russian Federation climbed to 7th place in the category 'Connection to the Electric Grids'. This happened for the first time in history.

This high result was achieved thanks to the large-scale reforms carried out by the Rosseti Group of Сompanies in the field of technological connection of consumers. World Bank experts evaluated the performance of the Rosseti Moscow Region and Rosseti Lenenergo companies in the two largest national regions.

In the Doing Business 2020 ranking, the Russian indicator 'Connecting to Electric Grids' amounted to 97.5 points (out of 100).

In an annual report, World Bank experts confirmed the success and effectiveness of all the reforms announced by the Russian energy sector, which are aimed at simplifying the process of connecting to electric networks. A reduction in timelines of construction and design, issuance of technological connection agreements, as well as the deep stage of digitalization of the process of connecting to grids were noted.

For 5 years, the number of procedures required to connect to the Rosseti Group's power grids was reduced from 3 to 2 in the metropolitan regions, while the time allocated for connection was cut from 162 to 41 days. The cost of technological connection decreased from 93% of per capita income in 2018 to 5% in 2019.

As part of the implementation of the Digital Transformation 2030 concept, the Rosseti Group is systematic in improving its production performance, increasing the quality of services provided, and creating comfortable conditions for interaction for both existing and prospective consumers. 'The historically high assessment score of authoritative World Bank experts testifies, in the best manner possible, that the strategy that was chosen was correct', Pavel Livinskiy, head of the Rosseti Group, commented on the findings of the study.

Alongside the evaluation of the effectiveness of the connection process, the rating takes into account indicators of reliability of power supply (P_SAIDI, P_SAIFI), transparency of tariffs, and prices for electricity. Once again, in the Doing Business 2019 ranking for the indicators of 'Reliability of Electricity Supply' and 'Transparency of Tariffs', the Russian Federation received the maximum rating: 8 out of 8 points.
